Attention Long Island Elementary School Principals and Teachers.  The New York Islanders want your school to be a part of Islanders Literacy Day being held on October 30, 2007.  During this day the entire New York Islanders team will be visiting schools throughout Long Island discussing the importance of reading as well as reading a short story to students.   In order to sign your school up for this unique opportunity send us an email giving us a little background on the literacy program in your school.  Also state why you feel the students in your school are deserving of this opportunity.  This contest will only run to October 8th so make sure to act fast.  To learn more about the program, click here
