CHILDREN’S FOUNDATIONHistory
The Islanders Children’s Foundation is a New York State not for profit foundation, qualified under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and qualified as a public charity. The Islanders Children’s Foundation was created in the Summer of 2003.
MissionThe Islanders Children’s Foundation is dedicated to supporting Long Island based non-profit organization that provides opportunities to children. The Foundation will work with those children’s charities that focus on the areas of health, education, and youth hockey development. Our fans, through their participation in our numerous fundraising events and activities, raise funding for the Foundation.
Fundraising
Throughout the course of the season the players, and their wives work to hold various in game fundraisers, raffles, and auctions. The following are held throughout the season:
- Halloween Mask Raffle
- Holiday Ornament Auction
- Valentine’s Day Puck Surprise
- 50/50 raffle.
