Hi, My name is Aaron Cheris, I am 17 years old, and this is my favorite Islanders memory.

When I was seven years old, my dad had taken me to my first Isles game and I was hooked. Later that season, the Islanders were playing the Maple Leafs in the first round of the playoffs. I clearly remember watching game 4 of that series in my bedroom with my little 10-inch box of a TV. When my father came in to tuck me into bed, he sat right next to me and watched the game, hoping I would fall asleep. When Bates had his penalty shot, I never had seen one before, so my dad told me to just watch. Ever since the result of that shot, I have always been a big Islanders fan. One night when I was 7 had changed my life forever.

My best Islander story is when I first became a fan. My mom had been trying to get me to a Rangers game forever and I never had any interest. Then, in 7th grade, my school went on a field trip to a pre-season Islanders vs. Devils game. I don't remember much of the day but I have to assume that the Islanders won because I've been a die hard fan ever since. And now, I'm glad I never went to a Rangers game because who knows where I'd be now! I could be a Rangers fan rather than a fan of the best hockey team ever! Since then I've gotten my grandfather, brother, and close friend to be Islander fans as well...no luck on my mother though.

I've had a lot of great Isles moments. But, hands down 1993, Game 6 against the Pens. Isles score late to lock up the game. A guy in our section up at the top had a Penguin on a noose. He made his way down to ice level and after the goal, threw it on the ice.  Uwe Krupp picked it up by the rope. He was tall enough that the Penguin dangled from its noose. Place went nuts. Newsday had a picture of it next day in the paper. Loved it. Obviously next game, David Volek completes the upset. Went to every home playoff game that year. Looking forward to that this year. LET'S GO ISLANDERS !!!!!!!!!
