Ryan Strome and Canada continued their undefeated round robin stage with a 2-1 victory over Team USA Sunday. With the Canadians leading 1-0, Strome scored his fourth goal of the tournament at 14:44 of the first period.
In the third period, Jacob Trouba scored for the US to make the score 2-1. As a result, Strome’s tally stood as the game-winner. Griffin Reinhart did not find the score sheet, but finished with a plus-1 rating.
Canada finishes up the preliminary round Monday vs. Russia. With a win, Canada will secure a bye in the playoff round.

The Finns trailed 2-0 after the first period, but tied it at 2-2 before the end of the middle frame. Switzerland regained a two-goal lead in the third, but Finland scored twice in the final seven minutes to force overtime. Markus Granlund scored the deciding goal in the sixth round of the shootout, improving Finland’s record to 2-1-0 in the tournament.
Finland concludes its round robin stage on Monday against Sweden, the team that won the tournament last year.
