Team Canada fell in the Bronze Medal Game against Russia in overtime by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. Islanders prospect Ryan Strome did not find the score sheet, while Griffin Reinhart was suspended from the contest for a high-sticking incident that occurred during the semifinal vs. the US.

The Russians established a two-goal cushion on two separate occasions in the first period. Canada drew the score to 3-2 heading into the intermission on a Jonathan Huberdeau power play goal.

The Canadians knotted the score at 3-3 on an early second period man advantage marker. Before the end of regulation, Canada would come back from a 4-3 and a 5-4 deficit to force overtime.

A minute and a half into the extra period, Valeri Nichushkin scored the bronze medal-winning goal for Russia.

Strome finishes the tournament with four goals (including one game-winner) and two assists in six games. Reinhart posted an assist in five games.

Team USA won the Gold Medal Game against defending champion Sweden by a score of 3-1.

Sweden took a 1-0 lead a minute into the second period on a power play goal by Filip Sandberg. Later in the middle frame, the Americans tied the game and took the lead on a pair of Rocco Grimaldi goals less than three minutes apart.

In the third, with Swedish goaltender Nicklas Lundstrom pulled, Vince Trocheck scored an empty-net goal with 16 seconds remaining to make the score 3-1, securing the Americans second gold medal in four years.
