Jr. Islanders - Quebec Blog Feb. 22
Twenty of the best 11 and 12-year-old hockey players from Long Island are participating in the 54th Annual Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament from Feb. 13-24. About 2,300 young hockey players from 16 countries come to Quebec to participate in the “World Championships of Pee-Wee Hockey.”
With the support from Islanders management and staff, the Junior Islanders are considered an important part of the Islanders family. Check this blog for updates about the team on and off the ice in Quebec City.
Today is our last day together with a game against Halifax. We were able to end the journey with a win, with the final score being 5-4. Our players skated and worked hard. They scored their last goal to win the game with 14 seconds left on the clock in the third. Everyone travels home tomorrow to get some rest before all these boys rejoin their teams to finish up their seasons.
We did not get the results in the tournament that the team was wishing for but the experiences and friendships will never be forgotten. Everyone had an amazing time and some players are trying to figure out how they can come next year. All the memories are unforgettable.
