John Tavares scored a goal and an assist to help Canada defeat Mark Streit, Nino Niederreiter and the Swiss 3-2 Wednesday in Helsinki.

Team Canada Captain Ryan Getzlaf scored 8:02 into the third period to break a 2-2 deadlock, firing a bomb past goaltender Tobias Stephan from the top of the right circle.

Jordan Eberle also had a goal for Canada (3-0-1), while Cam Ward picked up the victory in net.
