Denmark concluded its 2012 World Championship schedule with a 6-2 loss to rival Norway on Tuesday in Stockholm.
Coming into the game Norway had already earned a quarter-final spot while Denmark had avoided relegation.
Norway took control over the game in the second period with five unanswered goals that deflated Denmark
A frustrated Denmark lost its collective cool in the final period, as the game was further out of reach.
Frans Nielsen was assessed two roughing penalties in the game. He finished the tournament with three assists and eight penalty minutes in seven games and was named one of Denmark’s three top players for the tournament.
