Sound Tigers return to Webster Bank Arena this weekend; both games free of charge to general public

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers won one-of-three on the road last weekend, but still sit in second place in the Northeast Division at 4-2-0-0 (eight points). Only the Springfield Falcons, who the Sound Tigers beat on Oct. 27 in a shootout, are ahead of Bridgeport in the division standings.

UP NEXT

The Sound Tigers look to rebound from last weekend with home games on Saturday, Nov. 3 vs. the Hershey Bears (7:00 p.m.) and Sunday, Nov. 4 vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (3:00 p.m.). Admission to both games is free to the general public. Saturday’s tilt will be the first game at Webster Bank Arena since Oct. 13, when the Sound Tigers beat the Providence Bruins 4-2 in the home opener.

Bridgeport has yet to face Hershey this season, but went 2-2-0-0 against the Bears in four contests in 2011-12. Sunday’s matinee will be the second of four matchups with the Penguins, who the Sound Tigers beat 3-2 on the road on Oct. 20.

NEWS & NOTES

Forward Nino Niederreiter scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season on Oct. 27 at Springfield, and has six points in six games this season. The Sound Tigers are 4-0-0-0 when Niederreiter scores a goal.

Forward David Ullstrom scored the game-deciding goal in the seventh round of the shootout on Oct. 27 at Springfield. The last time the Sound Tigers participated in a seven-round shootout was Nov. 26, 2010, when Bridgeport defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack 4-3.

Goaltender Kevin Poulin is tied for fourth in the league with four wins in five games played. The three goalies ahead of him, as well as Chicago’s Eddie Lack, who also has four wins, all have more games played than Poulin. The Montreal, QC native ranks ninth in the AHL with 304 minutes played and eighth with 149 saves.
