Strome and Theoret’s chemistry paying dividends

Niagara IceDogs (Ontario Hockey League) forwards Ryan Strome and Mitchell Theoret continue to produce offensively, with each posting four points in two games last week. On Nov. 9 at Mississauga, the duo had a hand in all three IceDogs goals, with Theoret lighting the lamp twice and Strome assisting on the other in a 6-3 loss. The next night at home against Peterborough, Strome scored twice and picked up a helper, while Theoret added a pair of assists in a 5-2 win. In 21 games, Strome leads the OHL with 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists), four points ahead of second place, while Theoret ranks fourth on the team with 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) in 17 games.

Kichton keeps up the pace

Spokane Chiefs (Western Hockey League) defenseman Brenden Kichton scored in all three of his team’s games last week. In a 4-0 win against Everett on Nov. 6, the Edmonton, AB native recorded a shorthanded assist. On Nov. 9 vs. Kamloops, Kichton posted two assists (one shorthanded), and on Nov. 11 against Portland, he scored the Chiefs lone goal in a 9-1 loss. The 5’10, 185-pound blueliner ranks second on the team with 24 points (eight goals, 16 assists) in 21 games.

Pelech leads Erie to 2-0 week

Defenseman Adam Pelech of the Erie Otters (Ontario Hockey League) scored four points in two games last week, and has already set a career-high with four goals this season. The Toronto native scored a shorthanded marker against Peterborough on Nov. 9, and followed that up the next night with a goal, two assists and a plus-4 rating against Oshawa. Through 20 games, Pelech leads Otters blueliners with 19 points, and is one point shy of his career-high, which he set in 2011-12.
