Oct. 12: Monarchs 3, Sound Tigers 0
On Saturday, Oct. 12, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers fell to the Manchester Monarchs 3-0, despite registering 38 shots on goal. Anders Nilsson made 21 saves in the effort for Bridgeport. Manchester scored all three of their goals during a seven-minute span in the third period. Neither team capitalized on the man advantage despite 18 combined power plays (Bridgeport-11, Manchester-7). During the second period, the Sound Tigers looked sharp generating 17 shots on goal, but were unable to solve Monarchs goaltender Martin Jones.

Oct. 13: Falcons 3, Sound Tigers 1
On Sunday, Oct. 13, the Sound Tigers lost to the Springfield Falcons 3-1, marking their second straight loss. Springfield started the scoring late in the first period and was able to get three goals past Kenny Reiter, who finished with 22 saves. The Sound Tigers made it onto the scoreboard in the third period courtesy of Johan Sundstrom’s first goal of the season. After killing off the first leg of a five-on-three, Sundstrom came out of the box where he took the feed from Riley Wetmore and beat Falcons goalie Mike McKenna. The Sound Tigers hope to get back on the right foot in their next game, Sunday, Oct. 20 at home against the Binghamton Senators.
