Oct. 20: Senators 6, Sound Tigers 5

On Sunday, Oct. 20, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers fell to the Binghamton Senators 6-5 in overtime. Despite the loss, John Persson had a strong game with three points (two goals, one assist). 2011 fifth overall pick Ryan Strome also found himself on the score sheet multiple times (one goal, one assist), including his first goal of the season. Binghamton opened up a 3-0 lead before the Sound Tigers rallied to tie the game at 3-3. In the third period, Binghamton took a 5-3 lead. The Sound Tigers responded with goals from Mike Halmo and Johan Sundstrom to force overtime, but Senators forward Mike Hoffman scored the game-winning goal on the power play.

Solid Week for Pulock
Brandon Wheat Kings Captain Ryan Pulock has put together a strong start to his Western Hockey League campaign with nine points (four goals, five assists) in seven games. On Oct. 16, Pulock scored with 17 seconds left in regulation against the Moose Jaw Warriors to force overtime, where Brandon eventually won. Three days later against the Medicine Hat Tigers, Pulock scored for the second straight game. The 2013 15th overall selection tallied in the first period helping propel the Wheat Kings to a 6-3 win.

Winning Weekend for Cammarata
Islanders prospect Taylor Cammarata and No. 3 University of Minnesota took on Bemidji State this weekend, sweeping the two-game series. In the two games Cammarata railed up four points (one goal, three assists). On Friday, Oct. 18, Minnesota defeated Bemidji St. 6-3, with the help of Cammarata’s two assists. The next day, Cammarata’s goal and assist powered Minnesota to a 5-1 victory.
