Chris Dey
Chris Dey was promoted to President of the New York Islanders, it was announced Wednesday by Islanders owner Charles Wang.

In his role as President, Dey will expand his responsibilities beyond Sales, Marketing and Event Operations. He will oversee all business operations for the team as well as the Islanders Children's Foundation, the Islanders office in China and the Charles B. Wang Ice Hockey Project Hope in China. He will also work with the Lighthouse Development Corporation on the planning, as well as the sales and marketing, of the transformed Nassau Coliseum.

"Chris has been the driving force behind the change that the business has undergone over the last year," said Wang. "The promotion is well deserved and will enable him to do even more to improve the business – the way we service our fans, the impact we can have on amateur hockey on Long Island, the leadership we show in the community and more. I know Chris well enough that he will stop at nothing less in making the Islanders the model franchise in the NHL."

Despite missing the playoffs, the Islanders had their highest average per game paid attendance since 2002, and a year over year increase that was top 5 in the league. Contributing to this increase was a group sales department that ranked third in the league in total sales. Corporate sponsorship sales set a team record last season and the launch of the Islanders Business Club has allowed for larger participation with the team by local businesses and business executives.

"I'm so appreciative of the confidence that Charles and the organization have shown in me," said Dey. "We're continuing to build a very talented staff that is committed to being the very best in the business. I hope that our hard work will be felt most by the fans."

Last season, the Islanders community outreach made a significant impact by raising and donating more than $1 million to non-profit organizations last season. In addition, the RexCorp Islanders Inspire, a program of the Islanders Children's Foundation was launched, enabling more than 12,000 children to attend Islanders games last year. Starting this summer, the Islanders committed to a comprehensive Amateur Hockey Development program that will run year round for current and new youth hockey players

"It's important that the Islanders take a leadership position in the community whenever possible, investing in those who we're asking to invest in us—both financially and emotionally.  It's a priority of ours and we believe it will lead to an even stronger relationship between the team, our fans and the community as a whole," Dey added.
