Fans Turn Out To Greet Tambellini
Islanders forward signs for more than 100 fans at Islanders Team Store in Massapequa

More than 100 fans gathered outside of the Islanders Team Store at the Westfield Sunrise Mall in Massapequa to meet Islanders forward Jeff Tambellini on Wednesday. Tambellini met with the fans, signing autographs for everyone.Some fans had met Tambellini before, but didn’t pass up the chance to come and see him again.
“I’ve met him a few times,” said James Diaz of North Babylon. . “I plan to get another autograph today,”
Some fans who were shopping in the mall on Wednesday evening were pleasantly surprised to learn that Tambellini was at the Team Store.
“We saw a line forming and I asked someone who worked in the store and he told who was signing,” said Laura Miksics of Bellmore. “It was fantastic. He was friendly, interactive and talking to the kids—he was really nice.”
Laura’s children joined the Islanders Kids Club and received free t-shirts, key chains and stickers.
It was an exciting night for Tambellini, who is happy to be back on Long Island mingling with the Islanders fans.
“I got to see a lot of familiar faces and it was great that they all came,” Tambellini said. “It’s going to be a fantastic year and we’re all pretty excited about the new guys we brought in. It should be a pretty solid group.”

The next Team Store signing will be on Tuesday, July 7th, when Josh Bailey will be signing autographs at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville. Freddy Meyer will be at the Westfield Sunrise Mall on Thursday, July 16.
