For a second straight summer, Islanders forward
Jeff Tambellini made the long trip from his home in Vancouver to Long Island so that he could join the Islanders I.C.E. Tour. Beginning on June 29th and lasting through July 2nd, Tambellini visited various locations in four event-filled days.
"This was my second summer returning to Long Island to participate in the Islanders Community Tour," Tambellini said. "We went from camp to camp making sure that all the children on Long Island know that the Islanders are here not only during hockey season but every day of the year. All the camps that we visited this week were thrilled that we were able to come down and bring some extra excitement to their days activities."
Tambellini's visit with the I.C.E. Tour started on Monday for the first day of camp at Young People's Day Camp in Central Islip. Among the other camp locations that Tambellini visited were Hidden Pond Park in Hauppauge, Buckley Day Camp in Roslyn and Twin Oaks Camp in Freeport.
"It's always fun visiting the kids at the camps," Tambellini said. "This was the first week of summer vacation for the kids so they were pumped and ready to have fun especially with the nice weather we had this week."
Despite a very busy schedule, Tambellini also made time to visit the Islanders Team Store located in Massapequa. More than a hundred fans in attendance were eagerly awaiting Tambellini's arrival. Everyone got the chance to get an
autograph and take a picture with Tambellini and many new Kids Club members were also on hand for the signing to receive their new Islanders Kids Club shirts.
Beginning Monday, Islanders center
Josh Bailey will be taking part in the I.C.E. Tour.
