DiPIETRO OUT TUESDAY WITH BRUISED KNEE
The Islanders have recalled goaltender Wade Dubielewicz from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. Dubielewicz is expected to be the backup for Garth Snow when the Islanders host Boston on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm (FSNY, Bloomberg 1130).
Rick DiPietro will sit out Tuesday's game with a bruised knee, but is expected to be cleared to play in time for Thursday's home game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. DiPietro was replaced by Snow in the second period of the Islanders' 6-4 loss to Buffalo on Saturday night with the Islanders trailing 3-2.
In six games with the Sound Tigers this season, the 26-year old Dubielewicz is 1-4-0 with 5.03 GAA. In two games with the Islanders in the 2003-04 season, he had a 1.73 GAA while earning a win and a tie. He was signed as a free agent out of the University of Denver on May 25, 2003.
