50 WORDS OR LESS: The Goal Song
Our new interactive feature continues as we ask fans everywhere in Islanders Country to send us their best essays. The challenge is to come up with your best answer, as the title says, in 50 words or less.
This week's "assignment:"
What song would you like the Islanders to play after the home team scores a goal?
We know, we know: there may be other pressing issues in Islanders Country right now. Nevertheless, the post-goal song issue is constantly brought up by fans to our website and the Islanders' customer service department. So we felt who better to ask than the fans themselves. Are you tired of the Gary Glitter song and want a change? Do you think it's a hockey tradition that should never be messed with? And if you want the Islanders to try something knew, what piece of music would you suggest?
Just do it in 50 WORDS OR LESS and send it here.
Your deadline is Friday, November 11 at 10:00 am. You never know -- if someone has a real great idea, we guess there's always a chance the song could debut as early as the Nov. 12 home game against the Bruins. Finally, with all due respect, save the "I don't care what song you play as long as they score" emails for another time.
Thanks, and good luck!
