Bergenheim, Smith and Pettinen
The Islanders announced today that they have sent three players to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League: forwards Sean Bergenheim and Wyatt Smith and defenseman Tomi Pettinen. Bergenheim and Smith played their first NHL game of the year last night, a 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Pettinen, who has been with the Islanders all season -- dressing for 9 of the team's 25 games -- is in Bridgeport on a conditioning stint.
