BOUCHARD, NILSSON, SMITH BACK
Cloutier up, Pettinen to Bridgeport

Getting ready for the post-Olympic swing, the Islanders have recalled defenseman Joel Bouchard and forwards Robert Nilsson and Wyatt Smith from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The trio spent the last week and a half with the Sound Tigers during the NHL Olympic Break. The team also recalled goaltender Frederic Cloutier and reassigned defenseman Tomi Pettinen to Bridgeport.

In last night's game, the Sound tigers defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack 5-1 and Nilsson played a major role. The Sean Bergenheim - Jeremy Colliton - Nilsson line, which has been dominant as of late, chipped in another solid performance. Bergenheim netted a natural trick for a total of four goals, two of which Nilsson recorded assists on.

In eight games with the Islanders this season, Bouchard has been steady on the blueline with two assists. He's also played in 15 games with the Sound Tigers recording four goals and nine assists for 13 points. He missed three months after suffering a shoulder injury with the Sound Tigers in October.

Nilsson has split the season between the Islanders and the Sound Tigers. He started the year with the Islander before being reassigned to Bridgeport in December. In 27 games with the Islanders, he's recorded two goals and four assists for six points. In 29 games with Bridgeport, he's recorded eight goals with 20 assists for 28 points.

Smith started the season with the Sound Tigers, but spent parts of December, January and February with the Islanders. In 16 games with the Islanders, Smith has recorded four assists. In 29 games with Bridgeport, Smith has posted 13 goals with 16 assists for 29 points.

With DiPietro overseas and now coming back, but will be given rest upon his return, Cloutier was recalled to share the workload at practice with Garth Snow.

Pettinen has not recorded any points in 18 games this season with the Islanders.
