GAME PREVIEW: Islanders at New Jersey

The Islanders look to win their fourth straight game for the first time season as they continue on their five-game road trip at New Jersey tonight. The Islanders have taken the last three games from New Jersey, including the last two in the shootout.

Rick DiPietro has won five straight games and is expected to get the call in goal tonight. In his last three games this week, DiPietro has GAA of 0.95 and a save percentage of .966.

Rick DiPietro was stellar once again and recorded his career-high 25th victory as the Islanders defeated the Boston Bruins 3-1 at the TD Banknorth Garden on Saturday night. Mike York, Trent Hunter and Alexei Yashin (empty net) scored for the Islanders and DiPietro made 32 saves on 33 shots. Hunter, York and Satan each had two points.

DP SETS PERSONAL MARK WITH 24TH WIN
Rick DiPietro set a new personal season-high by recording his 24th victory on March 11 at Boston. His previous season-high was 23, which he recorded in the 2003-04 season. The Islanders' record for most victories by a goaltender his 32, co-held by Billy Smith (1981-82) and Chris Osgood (2001-02). HIT OR BE HIT
Coming into tonight's game, Trent Hunter is third in the league in hits with 187, while Arron Asham is fifth with 168. As a team, the Islanders have unloaded 1,201 hits against their opponents this season. In Saturday's game at Boston, Asham led the team with three hits.

MIRO AND HUNTER STAR IN SHOOTOUTS
Miroslav Satan and Trent Hunter are clutch in the shootout. Satan is third in the NHL with seven shootout goals and is tied for first with five determining goals. He is also third in the NHL with a shooting percentage of 77.8% in the shootout (of shooters with more than two attempts). Satan is also six-for-six when leading off the shootout for the Islanders and is three-for-three versus the New Jersey Devil's Martin Brodeur.

Hunter has been almost as successful with five goals in the shootout and two determining goals. He's converted 62.5% of his attempts.

SCORING THE FIRST GOAL
The Islanders are 19-8-1 this season when scoring first and 11-20-3 when the opposition scores the first goal of the game. In 2003-04, the Islanders had a record of 27-6-5-1 when they scored the first goal of the game. They were 11-23-6-3 when their opponents scored first.

SHOTS ON GOAL DIFFERENTIAL
