GAME PREVIEW: Islanders at Florida
7:30 pm, FSN, Bloomberg 1130 AM

The Islanders go right back at it again tonight as they take on the Florida Panthers in Sunrise, FL in the second game of a back-to-back set. This is the fourth and final meeting between the teams this season with the Islanders leading the season series two games to one.

The game is the fourth contest of a five-game road swing that the Islanders are currently on. They're 2-1 so far with the loss coming last night against Atlanta. The Islanders finish up their trip on Sunday in Tampa Bay.

Tonight's game is on FSN with Howie and Joe and Bloomberg 1130 am with John and Kinger.

The Islanders had their four-game winning snapped when they fell to the Atlanta Thrashers 4-2 on Thursday night at Phillips Arena. Shawn Bates and Alexei Yashin scored for the Islanders, while Rick DiPietro stopped 35 of 38 shots he faced.

- Arron Asham (ankle) is out four-to-six weeks as of March 14.
- Center Petteri Nokelainen (patella tendonitis) has missed the last 52 games. He's currently on the Injured Reserve retroactive of Nov. 3, 2005.

DP SETS PERSONAL MARK WITH 24TH WIN
Rick DiPietro set a new personal season-high by recording his 24th victory on March 11 at Boston. His previous season-high was 23, which he recorded in the 2003-04 season.

He currently has 25 wins on the season. The Islanders' record for most victories by a goaltender his 32, co-held by Billy Smith (1981-82) and Chris Osgood (2001-02). On the season, DiPietro is 25-18-3. Before the Islanders game in Atlanta, DiPietro won his previous six-games.
 

GOING BACK-TO-BACK
The Islanders are in the midst of their seventh back-to-back series of the season, and third this month. Last night, the Islanders lost to the Thrashers 4-2 in Atlanta. WHEN LEADING AFTER TWO
The Islanders have taken the lead into the third period 20 times this season and have a record of 17-2-1. HIT OR BE HIT
Coming into tonight's game, Trent Hunter is third in the league in hits with 189. Before suffering his injury, Arron Asham was fifth in the league with 168. As a team, the Islanders have unloaded 1,228 hits against their opponents this season. In Thursday's game at Atlanta, John Erskine led the team with four hits.

MIRO AND HUNTER STAR IN SHOOTOUTS
Miroslav Satan and Trent Hunter are clutch in the shootout. Satan is third in the NHL with seven shootout goals and is tied for first with five determining goals. He is also third in the NHL with a shooting percentage of 77.8% in the shootout (of shooters with more than two attempts). Satan is also six-for-six when leading off the shootout for the Islanders and is three-for-three versus the New Jersey Devil's Martin Brodeur.

Hunter has been almost as successful with five goals in the shootout and two determining goals. He's converted 62.5% of his attempts.

SCORING THE FIRST GOAL
The Islanders are 20-8-1 this season when scoring first and 11-21-3 when the opposition scores the first goal of the game. In 2003-04, the Islanders had a record of 27-6-5-1 when they scored the first goal of the game and were 11-23-6-3 when their opponents scored first.

SHORTHANDED TALLIES
