NYI TO PLAY EX GAME IN HALIFAX
The Islanders will play the Boston Bruins in a preseason game on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The following night the Ottawa Senators will go head-to-head with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ticket packages include both games and are on sale through Ticket Atlantic Box Office Friday, April 7 at 9 a.m.
"This is further proof of Halifax's reputation as a great events city," says Scott Ferguson, Executive Vice President of Trade Centre Limited. "It's obvious from our line-up of great events--2006 Juno Awards being the latest--that Halifax can deliver the community support and fan base that promoters and organizers need for success."
"It will be an honour for the Islanders to play a game in front of the amazing hockey fans in Halifax," says Islanders General Manager Mike Milbury. "We had a terrific time at our training camp last season in Yarmouth and we'd like to think that Nova Scotia is starting to embrace the Islanders as one of its favourite teams."
Roy Mlakar, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Ottawa Senators and Scotiabank Place adds: "The Senators have always had a great response from our fans in Halifax. As well, the great hospitality and enthusiasm shown by our partners at the Halifax Metro Centre and hockey community make bringing one of our key training camp components--a pre-season game--to Nova Scotia a great experience."
Ticket packages are available for purchase Friday April 7 at 9 a.m. only through www.ticketatlantic.com, Charge by Phone Line (902) 451-1221, and Ticket Atlantic Box Office at Halifax Metro Centre. Individual tickets will be made available closer to game time.
