TRAINING CAMP INVITEES

Forwards
Brandon Cullen: Tough guy Brandon Cullen has placed second on the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) in penalty minutes in two of his four seasons with the team. Cullen can also contribute offensively, tying for fifth on the team in scoring during the 2005-06 season.

Chris Ferraro: Ferraro has succeeded at the AHL level since 1995 and has played in 74 NHL games in his career, including 11 with the Islanders during the 1999-2000 season. Ferraro spent last season in the German Elite League on DEG Metro Stars, placing sixth on the team in scoring with 28. Chris' twin brother Peter signed a contract with the Islanders two weeks ago.

Chris Gaudet: Gaudet was the captain of Ted Nolan's Memorial Cup finalist Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL. He was also invited to participate at the Islanders prospect camp in July. At Moncton, Gaudet increased his points total from 18 in 2004-2005 to 48 during the 2005-2006 season.

Jamie Johnson: The 2005-06 season saw Johnson make a successful jump from the ECHL to the AHL. With Iowa (AHL), Johnson tallied 37 points, good for fifth on the team. Prior to joining Iowa, Johnson led Augusta of the ECHL in goals (22), assists (58) and points (80).

Defensemen
Joe Grimaldi:
The 20-year old native of Ronkonkoma, Long Island was a standout defenseman at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Grimaldi earned CCHA All-Rookie Team honors following the 2004-05 season. Midway through his sophomore year, Grimaldi joined Ottawa of the OHL for the remainder of the season ending the season second among the team's defense in goals (7) and third in points (21) in only 27 games.

Dale Lupul: Lupul was the backbone of the University of Wisconsin-Superior defense, leading the team's defense in scoring all four seasons. In his freshman season the Yellowjackets won the Division III NCAA title. Lupul went on to earn Second Team All-America honors in his final two seasons. Last year, Lupul joined Bossier-Shreveport of the CHL and placed second among the team's defense in points with 29. Proving it's indeed a small world, Lupul will reunited in Yarmouth with his radio play-by-play man in Bossier-Shreveport, new Islanders radio broadcaster Steve Mears.

Kevin Mitchell: The 26-year old Mitchell, born in the Bronx, returns to the Islanders organization after playing in Bridgeport for 18 games during the 2002-03 season. Since then, he has traveled to Europe to play in the German Elite League and in Austria. With Vienna, during the 2005-06 season, Mitchell led the defense in scoring with 12 goals, 25 assists and 37 points.

Bryan Rodney: The Ontario native made two big jumps during the 2005-06 season. After playing at the junior level for five seasons, Rodney signed a pro contract, playing for Charlotte of the ECHL. There he was third among defensemen in points with 25. Towards the end of the 2005-06, Rodney joined Hartford of the AHL for the final eight games of the season, tallying a goal and two assists.

Goaltenders
Chris Madden:
In the past two seasons, Madden had a winning record with three different teams: Long Beach (ECHL), Providence (AHL) and Bridgeport (AHL). During the 2005-06 season, Madden finished with a 7-6-0 record, a 3.05 G.A.A. and a .907 save percentage.

Mike Mole: Mole posted outstanding numbers with Belleville (OHL) during the 2001-02 season going 20-4-2 with a 2.51 G.A.A and a .921 save percentage. Last season, Mole split time between Phoenix and Sand Diego of the ECHL. He went a combined 19-30-5.
