BENCHMARKS WITH ASSISTANT COACH DANNY FLYNN
"I thought Yarmouth accomplished the purpose it set forth. It was a good, quiet setting for us to train, do some team building and focus on hockey. The reception and hospitality was tremendous. Now it's nice to go to a new setting and get a different look. We're all looking forward to getting the season going."
"I think it was good for us to be one of the last teams starting in terms of games because we had seven or eight days in Yarmouth to look at our team, evaluate guys and not be flooded with getting the team ready for exhibition games. I know we have five games in eight or nine days and a lot of the veteran guys are anxious to get some games in. At this point we're all excited to see how we start out.
"Teddy (Nolan) is going to put all the young guys in at least one of the first two exhibition games to see where they fit. There are some openings here and he's looking for gritty, hard working, competitive guys. That's the type of team he coaches and that's the stamp we're going to try and put on this team. We're going to see tonight what we have."
"It's nice to get back to Moncton. I'm from Nova Scotia originally, only two hours from here, and we had a great year in Moncton last year. Moncton is a great community, so it's nice to see lots of friends, familiar places. Hopefully, we can do a good job here tonight.
