GAME PREVIEW
Islanders (3-3-2) vs. Buffalo (9-0-0)

(7:30 p.m. ET, TV: FSNY | Radio: Bloomberg 1130) The Islanders have a big test tonight as they take on the undefeated Buffalo Sabres at the Nassau Coliseum in their fifth game of their seven-game home stand.

On Saturday, the Islanders capped off Kids' Opening Night with an overtime win against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes. With 3:10 remaining in the third period, Mike Sillinger scored his fourth goal in four home games to tie the game at three before Tom Poti tallied the game-winner on the power play 23 seconds into overtime. With the win, the Islanders raised their record back to .500 and have now earned points in five consecutive games. Against Carolina, the Islanders tallied three power play goals on seven chances.

Alexei Yashin continued his productive play, assisting on all four Islanders goals. His seven power play assists is second in the NHL. Sillinger earned a goal and an assist while Poti had two assists along with the game-winner.

The Sabres come into tonight's game with the best record in the league at 9-0-0. They're one win away from tying an NHL record for wins at a start of the season achieved by the 1993-94 Toronto Maple Leafs.

Buffalo is well balanced up front, possessing four players with double-digits in points: Maxim Afinogenov (14), Chris Drury (14), Tomas Vanek (13) and Daniel Briere (12). In goal, Ryan Miller has been perfect so far in his sophomore season sporting a 7-0-0 record along with a 2.49 GAA and a .915 SV%.

You can listen to the game on Bloomberg Radio 1130 with Chris King and Steve Mears. Howie Rose and Billy Jaffe have the call on FSNY.
