Islanders (3-4-2) vs. Florida (5-6-1)

(7:00 p.m. ET, TV: MSG | Radio: Bloomberg 1130) Tonight, the Islanders look to pick up points nine and ten as they faceoff against the Southeast Division Florida Panthers.

This will be the first of four meetings between these teams, having faced four times last year and splitting the series 2-2-0. The last time these two teams played at the Coliseum, - January 4, 2006 - the Islanders came away with a 4-3 shootout victory. Wade Dubielewicz earned the victory, entering the game in the final two minutes of overtime after Garth Snow went down with an injury.

Coming into tonight's game, Trent Hunter is tied for the league lead with 39 hits along with Ottawa's Chris Neil. Mike Sillinger continues to dominate on faceoffs, going 13 for 17 against Buffalo on Thursday. He ranks third in faceoff winning percentage with a rate of 60.7%.

The Panthers play their third consecutive game against a New York Metropolitan team having beaten the Rangers on Wednesday 4-2 and then losing to the Devils 2-0 on Thursday. Olli Jokinen leads Florida in points with 12, while Mike Van Ryan paces the defense in points with nine. In goal, Alex Auld (3-4-1) and Ed Belfour (2-2-0) have split time.

Chris King and Steve Mears have the call on Bloomberg Radio 1130 while Howie Rose and Billy Jaffe can be seen tonight on MSG Network.
