GAME PREVIEW
Islanders (8-6-2) at Tampa Bay (9-8-1)

(8:00 p.m. ET, TV: FSN NY 2 | Radio: Bloomberg 1130) The Islanders try to make it five in a row on the road as they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight at the St. Pete Times Forum.

On Wednesday, the Islanders earned their fourth road win in a row by knocking of the Dallas Stars 3-0. Rick DiPietro made 35 save to earn his seventh career shutout while Mike York, Jason Blake and Trent Hunter had the tallies for the Islanders. Blake's goal was his team-leading ninth. Alexei Yashin also continued to add to his team-leading point total by posting an assist. With the win, the Islanders can move to three games over .500 for the first time this season with a win against Tampa Bay.

This is the second of four meeting between these teams. In their first meeting, Tampa Bay walked away with a 5-1 victory at the Coliseum behind two goals from defenseman Filip Kuba.

The streaking Lightning had gone five games in a row earning at least a point before losing in regulation to Montreal 3-1 on Wednesday. In the loss, both Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis had 11-game point-scoring streaks snapped. Lecavalier currently leads the team in points with 22 and St. Louis in goals with 11.

Initially considered the backup goaltenders this year, Johan Holmqvist has started in three of the past four games, earning victories in all of his starts.

Chris King and Steve Mears have the call on Bloomberg Radio 1130 while Howie Rose and Billy Jaffe can be seen tonight on FSNY 2 Network.
