GAME PREVIEW
Islanders (9-6-3) at Toronto (11-6-4)

(7:30 p.m. ET, TV: FSN NY| Radio: Bloomberg 1130) The Islanders wrap up their five-game road swing tonight as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre.

Saturday, the Islanders raised their record to 9-6-3 behind stellar goaltending from Mike Dunham (3-1-2), who made 43 saves in a 4-1 win over the Florida Panthers. Dunham made his best save of the season in the second period, diving across with the glove to stop Ville Peltonen on a rebound attempt. It's the second time this season Dunham stopped at least 40 shots to earn the victory. He stopped 46 shots against Anaheim on October 11th en route to a 5-4 shootout win.

Alexei Yashin and Jason Blake each tallied a goal and an assist in the game. Arron Asham scored his first goal of the season, which was ultimately the game-winner, and Miroslav Satan capped off the scoring with an empty-netter in the final minute of play.

The Maple Leafs missed the playoffs for the first time in seven seasons last year. The result, long-time head coach Pat Quinn was fired and replaced by Toronto Marlies their AHL affiliate head coach Paul Maurice.

In the early going, Toronto has played well and currently sits in second place in the Northeast Division. Andrew Raycroft has been solid in goal, but is sidelined with a groin injury. Captain Mats Sundin is also sidelined with an injury and is expected to be out for another week or two.

Offensively, the feisty Darcy Tucker is leading the team in goals with 12 and second-year forward Kyle Wellwood is leading the team in assists. Tomas Kaberle and Bryan McCabe are once again one of the most dangerous one-two punches on the points of the power play.

Mikael Tellqvist was called up from the minors to replace injured Raycroft. In his first NHL start of the season, Tellqvist made 17 saves in a 2-1 loss on Saturday to the New Jersey Devils. Prior to Saturday™s loss, the Leafs had earned points in five consecutive games, including a four-game winning streak.

Chris King and Steve Mears have the call on Bloomberg Radio 1130, while Howie Rose and Billy Jaffe can be seen tonight on FSN NY Network.
