GAME PREVIEW
Islanders (12-8-3) vs. Philadelphia (7-15-3)

(7:30 p.m. ET, TV: FSN NY | Radio: Bloomberg 1130) The Islanders look to rebound after a tough loss on Tuesday to the Pittsburgh Penguins and continue their home winning streak, taking on the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at the Nassau Coliseum.

A win tonight by the Islanders would extend their longest home winning streak of the season to four after picking up three victories in four nights over Thanksgiving weekend.

Jason Blake carries a streak of his own, having scored in his past six games, totaling five goals and four assists. He tallied an assist on Viktor Kozlov's goal in Tuesday night's loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Islanders won in their only previous meeting with Philadelphia this year, handing the Flyers a 3-1 loss at the Wachovia Center. In that game, Alexei Yashin had two goals, Richard Park had one and Rick DiPietro stopped 32 of 33 shots. Simon Gagne scored the lone Philadelphia goal late in the third period on the power play.

The Flyers have struggled all season long, but have played better lately, earning points in three of their past four games.

Last night, however, they put another one in the loss column, dropping a 3-2 decision to Nashville. Mike Knuble and R.J. Umberger scored the two tallies for Philadelphia, while Antero Niittymaki took the loss.

Yesterday, backup goaltender Robert Esche was placed on the injured reserve and will be out 2-4 weeks. The Flyers called up Martin Houle from their AHL affiliate Philadelphia Phantoms. Houle has no NHL experience.

Chris King and Steve Mears have the call on Bloomberg Radio 1130, while Howie Rose and Billy Jaffe can be seen tonight on FSN NY.
