Kozlov and Sillinger score a pair in Isles victory over Pens

Two goals by Viktor Kozlov and Mike Sillinger helped give the Islanders (13-9-3) a 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday night at the Mellon Arena. Rick DiPietro stopped 34 shots, including some spectacular ones to capture his tenth win of the season.

The Islanders struck first on the power play, 3:48 into the game. Tom Poti fed Miroslav Satan for a one-timer past Marc-Andre Fleury. It was Satan's sixth goal of the season.
Colby Armstrong tied the game at one on the power play 7:52 into the first period. The Penguins went up 2-1 on another power play goal with 7:58 left in the first period. Erik Christensen fired a high wrist shot for his second goal of the season.

The Islanders scored three consecutive goals to take the lead for good.  Kozlov scored the first even-strength goal of the game, with 2:57 gone by in the second period. While playing four-on-four, Kozlov banged home a loose puck in front for his sixth goal of the season.

Poti made another perfect feed to give the Islanders a 3-2 lead on the power play. Sillinger deflected home Poti's centering pass for his sixth goal of the season.

Chris Simon got into his second fight of the season, taking on Ronald Petrovicky with 5:28 remaining in the second period. The Islanders took a 3-2 lead going into the third period.

With less than 10:00 left in the third period, Bruno Gervais saved a goal by sliding across and keeping the puck out of the net as it trickled across the goal line. Only a few seconds after dodging the bullet, Kozlov scored his second goal of the season to make it 4-2. Kozlov blistered a shot over Fleury's glove with 9:13 left on the clock.

Mark Recchi cut the lead to 4-3 with 4:52 remaining in the third period. Sidney Crosby found a streaking Ryan Whitney, who slid it across to Recchi for the tap-in goal.

The scoring was capped off by Sillinger's second goal of the game with 3:35 left in the game. Sillinger blasted home Jason Blake's deflected pass to make it 5-3.
