Isles partner with Stephen Siller Foundation

On one of the most tragic days in history, men and women sacrificed their lives to come to the rescue of those in mortal danger. That is why the Islanders are proud to support The Stephen Siller, FDNY, "Let Us Do Good" Children's Foundation, formed in honor of firefighter, Stephen, who took his final heroic steps as he ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center to help save others.

The Siller Foundation is known for restoring hope to the New York area, post 9/11, and once again is reaching out to continue that legacy. The and its fundraiser, The Tunnel to Towers Run/Walk raises money for the following: The Pediatric Center of the NYC Firefighters Burn Center Foundation and Burn Center's Across America through the Brother for Brother Remembrance.

In 2008, the beautiful new "Stephen's House" of the New York Foundling will become a home to orphaned children. By coordinating with a coalition of 9/11 families in a million-dollar it will be a relief fund for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. On December 2 the final truck load of toys were sent down to the Gulf Coast, thus completing a project which began a year ago.

The Siller Foundation continues to grant Freedom Alliance scholarships to children who have lost a parent who died fighting for our country in Iraq or Afghanistan. The "Wings of a Hero" educational awards and "Legacy" awards continue to help those children and families who have suffered the loss of a loved one.

For the Islanders game against the New Jersey Devils on February 17th, we're asking you, the fans, to buy tickets through the Foundation to help raise funds for your local Burn Center. All net proceeds will be donated to the New York City, Nassau, and Suffolk Burn Center Foundations.

Special seats have been reserved for the February 17th game that will be sold for a discounted price to help benefit the Burn Centers. You will be able to buy select seats for the following prices:

*  $95 VIP tickets are only $55
* $70 Center Ice tickets are only $45
* $55 End Mezzanine tickets are only $35

The person that purchases the most tickets to this event, by February 8th, will receive their very own luxury box that seats 20, to be used the night of the event.  The second largest group to purchase tickets will receive a behind-the-scenes look at the Islanders, which includes two press box seats, and high-fives with the players before they enter the ice on game night. When you purchase at least five VIP tickets by January 20th, you will receive a limited edition tee-shirt.

Stephen's legacy and unselfishness has really touched the heart of the Islanders team.  This past week Chris Campoli and Bruno Gervais voiced their admiration for the firefighters, police officers, and EMS of New York and Long Island.  Volunteers from all over the Tri-State area are actively spreading the message about this important event.

So please join Bob Beckwith, Mike Bossy, and the whole New York Islanders team in continuing the legacy of Stephen Siller, and all who fought for our freedom on 9/11.
