Name: Tomas Marcinko
Team: Barrie (4-4-0-0)^
Acquired: Islanders 2006 fourth round draft pick (114th overall)
Stats to date: Games Played (7), Goals (6), Assists (2), Points (8), PIM (8)
Update: Marcinko had a breakout week for Barrie, leading them to a 2-1-0 record. The young Slovak posted four goals, including the game-winner in Barrie's 5-1 win over Owen Sound on Monday.
What the scouts are saying:
"I went to see him recently, and he scored a goal on a real good net drive. That's what we talked to him about, using his body to get to the net.
"Tomas has seen a lot of different situation this season, and can't ask for any more, given the opportunity he is getting. He's not only the team's No. 1 center, but has been given great responsibility as he continues to develop as a player. He sees penalty kill and power play time, and plays while the team is up or down a goal late in the game. This is great development for him given that he his only 19-years old. So far he has made the most of it."

Update: Axelsson has played enforcer on Vasteras this season, leading the team with 41 penalty minutes. Vasteras had a good week going 2-0-0 to move into a tie for second place.

Update: Rimouski has had a rough start to the season, landing near the bottom of the QMJHL standings. Rimouski was 1-2-0 this week. Gratchev did not record a point in the three games.
Name: Jesse Joensuu
Team: Assat (3-6-2)
League: SM-Liiga (FIN)
Acquired: Islanders 2006 second round draft pick (60th overall)

Update: Assat was 1-1 this week, while Joensuu went scoreless.
Name: Kim Johansson

Update: Johansson is splitting time between the pro-level and the junior ranks. On his junior team he is tied for third in assists and points.

Update: Lacroix went scoreless in Shawinigan's lone game this week, a 4-1 loss to Gatineau.
Name: Stefan Ridderwall

Acquired: Islanders 2006 sixth round draft pick (173rd overall)
Stats to date: Record (1-0-0), GAA (1.00), SV% (.958)
Update: Ridderwall played in his first game of the season, capturing a 2-1 win over Brynas on Thursday. The Swedish netminder made 24 saves in the win.
Name: Igor Volkov
Team: Ufa (12-0-1-0-3)*
League: Russian Super League
Acquired: Islanders 2003 eighth round draft pick (246th overall)
Stats to date: Games Played (13), Goals (6), Assists (2), Points (8), PIM (4)
Update: Volkov picked up three goals this week as Ufa won two games and lost one. The Russian forward scored two goals in Ufa's 7-0 win over Novokuznetsk on Sunday.
