Mike Sillinger
40% OFF!: Tickets for Mike Sillinger's 1000th NHL game on Thursday can be purchased at up to 40% off regular prices – starting as low as $16 - at the Nassau Coliseum box office. The box office will be open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30 am – 4:45 pm and on game night Thursday from 9:30 am through the start of the game.

History will be made not once, but twice this week as the Islanders host two big games at the Nassau Coliseum. Before the return of Hall of Fame coach Al Arbour behind the Islanders bench on Saturday is an equally momentous game two nights earlier.

When the Islanders play the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday at the Coliseum, it will mark the 1000th regular season NHL game of fan favorite Mike Sillinger. To put this in proper historical perspective, this will be just the sixth time in the Islanders' 35-year history that one of their players will mark his 1000th NHL game in the Blue and Orange.

"It's going to be a thrill," said Sillinger, who proudly wears the "A" for the Islanders. "I'll have some of my family and friends on the Island and I'm sure it's going to be a night we'll never forget. But of course the biggest thing is that we get the win on Thursday."

There will be a pre-game ceremony honoring Sillinger at 7:00 pm on Thursday before the Islanders and Lightning battle, so fans will want to be at their seats in plenty of time. Mike is expected to be joined by his wife Karla, sons Owen, Lukas and Cole and his father, Bob. The Islanders and the National Hockey League will make presentations.

Mike Sillinger
"I really hope the fans come out in full force on Thursday," said Islanders head coach Ted Nolan. "Thursday is a very big game for our team and it's going to be a special night for Mike Sillinger, an Islander who defines grit, character and heart. Mike brings so much to our franchise so we're going to make it a great night for him and his family."

When Sillinger plays his 1000th NHL game on Thursday night at the Coliseum, he will become just the sixth Islander to wear the Blue and Orange when reaching the milestone, joining Keith Acton, Butch Goring, Denis Potvin, Bryan Trottier and Ed Westfall. Of those six, only Potvin and Trottier played all 1,000 games with the Islanders.

See you at the Coliseum on Thursday when history is made!
