The Islanders have selected Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, as the site for their 2009 training camp. The camp—which will run from September 12th through 20th—will be held at the Credit Union Centre.
Highlighting the week's activities will be two NHL exhibition games featuring the Islanders vs. the Calgary Flames on September 19th, followed by the Islanders taking on the Edmonton Oilers on September 20th. Both games will be played at the Credit Union Centre—home of the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL and the 2010 World Junior Championships.
“We are excited to hold Islanders training camp in Saskatoon—one of Canada's true hockey communities,” said Islanders General Manager Garth Snow. “Saskatoon has an excellent reputation in hosting major sporting events and we look forward to becoming a part of the Saskatchewan community.”
Tickets to the Islanders pre-season games will be available through Ticketmaster.ca.
