NIELSEN TWITTER Q & A
Newyorkislanders.com caught up with Islanders center Frans Nielsen for another installment of Twitter Q and A. Read all the answers to your questions.

@NHLArenaNYIsles
Ask Frans if he had never played sports what would he have decided to do?

I probably would have been a pilot.

@NHLArenaNYIsles
Frans: You're great at the shootout. Is it something that just developed naturally or did you specifically work on that?

You try to see other guys do stuff that you like, and then you try and copy it. You’ve got to work on it a little bit to see if you can do it and maybe change something a little bit.

@Kevin_Corey
Frans, why did you choose the #51. Anybody wear it before that you looked up to?

They chose it for me. I had 15 in Sweden, so maybe they reversed the numbers, but it might have just been a coincidence.

@nyihockey
what do you think your ceiling will be in the NHL? A defensive 3rd line center who can contribute 40 points? Or more?

Hopefully I can become one of the best two-way players in the league and help this organization win a Stanley Cup.

@LHHockey
When Gordon sends you against the opponent's best, does he give specifics, or do you just know: "Shut. Them. Down."?

You always know who you’re out against and when you have to be careful. You know when you absolutely can’t lose the puck.

@farazlol
Is there any arena (besides NVMC) you like to play at? Any particular team you like to play against? (you rule Frans!)?

It’s always fun to beat the Rangers and to play in MSG. A lot of Canadian cities are also fun to play in

@SnatchOrGrab
Frans who is the toughest player to play against??

Probably Datsyuk.

@Kevin27NYI
when do you think goalies will figure out your very successful shootout move??

They probably will soon, but we’ll see. I’ll probably have to figure something new out in the future.

@HockeyIsland
What would it mean to you if the Islanders win a Stanley Cup and you become the first player to bring Lord Stanley to Denmark?

That’s what we all work for. That would be the biggest dream for all of us in the locker room. You can’t do anything bigger as a hockey player.

@NYIsles26
Frans, should we expect playoff hockey for the Isles this year?

For sure. After 60 games last year we were still in it, before we had a down period. We’re older now, we learned from last year and I think we have some really good players in the lineup. It’s going to be very exciting and I think we’re going to be a very good team this year.

@NYIsles26
Frans, I love your backhand move in the shootout. Got any new moves this year??

Not Yet.

@CurtisP11
frans what was your favourite part of last season?

We had a pretty good stretch, where we showed that we were a good hockey team. We were in the playoff race and it was fun to show that a young group like us could play good hockey.

@Maude21
What was the best moment of your career?

There have been many fun things, like my first game or first goal. I just went to the quarter finals this year with Denmark in the World Championship, which was very fun. We’d never been that close before. I won the Danish league, I know it’s not as big as the Stanley Cup, but there have been some fun things. Hopefully soon the Stanley Cup will be on the list too.
