Meeting a professional athlete is one of the most exciting moments that any sports fan can experience. The fanatics root on their favorites from afar, watching them on television and in person, getting as close as possible to their heroes.

The opportunity to experience a one-on-one moment with these players is something most could only ever dream about. Add a gift from the player on top of just meeting them and that’s no longer a dream; that’s an ultimate fantasy.

The New York Islanders are making that moment possible for 22 very lucky fans. After the October 16 game against the Colorado Avalanche, each player on the team will be presenting a game-used stick to an auction-winning fan. Each stick will be wrapped in breast cancer awareness tape, a black hockey tape patterned with pink ribbons.
