Joensuu to play in World Championships

Islanders forward will represent Finland for the first time

New York Islanders forward Jesse Joensuu will represent Finland at the World Championships to be held April 29th to May 15th in Bratislava and Košice, Slovakia.

It is the first time Joensuu will participate in the World Championships. In 42 games with the Islaners this season, Joensuu had 6 goals and 3 assists. He also netted the eventual game-winner in the Islanders 6-2 win over the New York Rangers on March 31.
