Isles Scout Mario Saraceno
On Tomas Jurco - Jurco helped the St. John Sea Dogs win the QMJHL Championship before the team went on to win the MasterCard Memorial Cup. He has lots of skills, abilities and potential. He shoots left, but plays the off wing and has enough size, strength, balance and hands in order to beat a defender in 1-on-1 situations. He needs to become more consistent and assertive.

NHL Central Scouting's Chris Bordeleau
On Tomas Jurco - He's a very good skater with size and excellent puck skills. He has all the tools of a first-round draft pick.

Saint John head coach Gerard Gallant
On Tomas Jurco - He does different things at practice some guys would view it as being cocky, but Tomas does it because he wants to score a goal doing it. I just tell him to do what he feels comfortable doing. We're not here to show up anybody, but if that's the move you think you could score a goal with, do it. He's done pretty well in shootouts … he has stick handling and eye coordination to make those great plays. He's a big-bodied guy with a great skill level and competes really hard.

Isles Scout Vellu Kautonen
On Viktor Arvidsson - Arvidsson is a smaller skilled winger. He has good puck skills and nifty moves to beat defensemen in 1-on-1 situations.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
Saint John Sea Dogs

The Saint John Sea Dogs entered the QMJHL as an expansion team in 2005. Quickly, they have become a powerhouse, winning the 2011 Memorial Cup, the highest junior hockey honor.

Tomas Jurco was part of that 2010-11 Sea Dogs team. If he is selected by the Islanders in this year's draft, Jurco will be the first Sea Dogs skater to enter the Islanders system. is the official Web site of the New York Islanders Hockey Club, L.P. and are trademarks of New York Islanders Hockey Club, L.P.  NHL, the NHL Shield, the word mark and image of the Stanley Cup and NHL Conference logos are registered trademarks of the National Hockey League.
