Central Scouting’s B.J. MacDonald
On Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - (Nugent-Hopkins) has very good puck-handling capabilities. His on-ice awareness is very good. He's one of those guys that knows where everyone is and where they should be and where the puck should go... He can dish both right or left, either on his backhand or forehand with that kind of vision. But not just the vision, but the fact he can lay that puck between the skate boot and the skate blade -- that's hard to find.

NHL Central Scouting’s Peter Sullivan
On Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - A couple of people high up -- and not naming names -- said Hopkins has the best vision since No. 99 (Wayne Gretzky). That's the highest compliment you can get. But the other thing is the way he competes. He never takes a night off and he works as hard in his own end as he does in the offensive zone and that takes a special player with a special set of skills to do that.

Islanders Scout Vellu Kautonen
On Adam Larsson - Larsson is the complete package as a player. He has great hockey sense, very good hands and size.

NHL Central Scouting's Chris Edwards
On Adam Larsson - Adam is one of the best skater’s in this year’s draft -- he has excellent speed and mobility. He also has patient puck handling abilities and can surprise an opponent with a solid hit. His size and skating ability make him comparable with Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman.

Western Hockey League
Red Deer Rebels

Since the team was founded in 1992, the Red Deer Rebels have won the Memorial Cup and Ed Chynoweth Cup once, both coming during the 2000-01 season. The Rebels have also won two consecutive WHL regular season titles (2000-01 and 2001-02) and three consecutive division titles (2000-01, 2001-02 and 2002-03).

If the Islanders select Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, he would join Justin Mapletoft (1999, 130th overall) and 1993 teammates Peter Leboutillier (144th overall) and Darren Van Impe (170th overall) as just the fourth Rebel drafted by the team since Red Deer’s inception.
