Gillies Agrees To Terms On One-Year Deal
Forward returns for second year with the Islanders on a two-way deal

The New York Islanders announced today that Trevor Gillies has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way (AHL/NHL) contract.
Gillies, 32, established career highs in goals (2), points (2) and games played (39) in his twelfth professional season and his second with the Islanders. The Cambridge, ON, native ranked second on the team with a career-high 165 penalty minutes.
In 54 career NHL games with the Islanders and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Gillies has totaled three points (two goals, one assist) and 261 penalty minutes. The Islanders originally acquired the 6’3, 227-pound forward as a free agent on Jan. 28, 2010.
Gillies has played in 354 career AHL games with the Lowell Lock Monsters, Worcester IceCats, Providence Bruins, Springfield Falcons, Hartford Wolf Pack, Portland Pirates, Albany River Rats and Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Prior to his professional career, Gillies played four years in the Ontario Hockey League for the North Bay Centennials, the Sarnia Sting and the Oshawa Generals.
