The New York Islanders announced today the release of their 2011 preseason schedule. The Islanders will play five exhibition games in five cities across North America, including one game at Webster Bank Arena, the home of the Islanders American Hockey League affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The Islanders will open their 2011 preseason on Friday, Sept. 23, at TD Bank Garden against the Boston Bruins at 7 p.m.  The following night, Saturday, Sept. 24, the Islanders will host their Atlantic Division rivals, the New Jersey Devils at 7 p.m. at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The third game of the preseason is set for Tuesday, Sept. 27, when the Islanders travel to the Scotiabank Saddledome to take on the Calgary Flames at 9 p.m. The Islanders will then travel to the Prudential Center on Friday, Sept. 30, for a 7 p.m. faceoff against New Jersey. The team’s final preseason game is on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT at 7 p.m. against Boston.

New York Islanders 2011 training camp will be held at Nassau Coliseum for the second-straight year, beginning Sept. 16 through Oct. 5.
