Islanders sign three to tryouts; remove Poulin from injured reserve
Gallant, Olson sign professional tryout deals for training camp; Bidlevskii signs amateur tryout contract

The New York Islanders announced today that Brett Gallant and Benn Olson have agreed to professional tryout deals for training camp, while Art Bidlevskii has signed an amateur tryout contract. The club also announced that Kevin Poulin has been removed from injured reserve.
Gallant, 22, appeared in 17 games last season with the Islanders’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, scoring one goal and adding 73 penalty minutes. The Summerside, PEI, native also played in 25 ECHL games last season with the Elmira Jackals and Reading Royals, totaling three points (one goal, two assists) and 132 penalty minutes. Gallant played his first professional season with Elmira in 2009-10, after completing a four-year junior career with the Saint John Sea Dogs (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) and the Summerside Western Capitals (Maritime Junior A Hockey League).
Olson, 24, played in 17 games with the Sound Tigers last season, registering three assists and 78 penalty minutes. The Port McNeil, BC, native also saw ECHL action with the Cincinnati Cyclones, scoring one goal and three assists in 43 games. Prior to last year, Olson played his first two professional seasons with the Albany River Rats (AHL) and Florida Everblades (ECHL). He played four years of junior hockey in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Kamloops Blazers and the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Bidlevskii, 20, completed his fourth season in the WHL last year. In 57 games with the Regina Pats, he scored three goals and six assists, while adding 140 penalty minutes. The Kelowna, BC, native also made his professional debut with Bridgeport last season, recording one assist in 10 games.
Poulin, 20, made his National Hockey League debut last year, playing in 10 games with the Islanders. The Montreal, QC, native posted a 4-2-1 record with a 2.44 goals against average with a .924 save percentage before suffering a season-ending knee injury on Feb. 8. In 15 games with the Sound Tigers, Poulin added a 10-5-0 record with a 2.19 goals against average and a .932 save percentage.
