KOSKINEN ASSIGNED TO KALPA
Goaltender to play in Finnish Elite League

The New York Islanders announced today that goaltender Mikko Koskinen has been assigned to KalPa of SM-Liiga (the Finnish Elite League).
Koskinen, 23, recorded a 2.82 goals-against average (GAA) with a .909 save percentage (sv%) this season in three games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Vantaa, FI, native made his National Hockey League debut last season, appearing in four games with the Islanders and posting a 2-1-0 record.
The Islanders selected Koskinen in the second round, 31st overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The 6’6, 205-pound netminder has already appeared in 34 career games in the Finnish Elite League, recording an 18-9-7 record with a 1.85 GAA for the Espoo Blues.
