No Love in Philly: The Islanders haven’t won in Philadelphia since the 2006-07 season, a streak of 13 games. While they have struggled against the Flyers as a whole, the raucous Wells Fargo Center has been especially difficult for the Isles.

One Goal Games: There is evidence that the Islanders are close to reversing their fortunes against the Flyers. Both meetings between the teams this season were decided by one goal, with the Islanders taking a point in a 4-3 overtime loss on Nov. 23.

Ten and Counting: With the game-winning goal Tuesday night in Washington, Islanders leading scorer John Tavares extended his point streak to 10 games, the longest of his career. Tavares has scored 17 points (6g/11a) over his last 10 and can match David Krejci’s season-high 11-game streak with a point in Philly.

Discipline, young Islander: The Islanders have largely stayed out of penalty trouble in 2012. In their last eight games, the Isles haven’t sent more than three men to the box and have killed off 16 of their last 17 penalties.

Jack Capuano on keys to a win in Philadelphia: “We’ve got to prepare the same way that we prepare. That’s thinking defense first and getting our chances offensively. They got some guys that can score goals and they score three or four a night or more. So for us, it’s a matter of continuing how we want to play to be successful. We have to stay disciplined for sure and keep them off the power play and hopefully we can change the outcome of what’s happened here as of late.”

Travis Hamonic on the Islanders struggles against the Flyers: “Hopefully we are going to change that [the Isles struggles in Philadelphia]. They are a good team, but I thought last week we played them, we played very well. Obviously we didn’t get the two points and it’s frustrating, but there were a lot of things to build off of. Thursday’s going to be a new day and a new game and we’re looking forward to challenging ourselves again.”
