| Gemel Smith more than tripled his point production between his first and second season of junior hockey, posting career highs in goals, assists and points. The Toronto native has represented Canada internationally at the 2011 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (Gold Medal) and the 2012 World Under-18 Championships (Bronze Medal). |
Martin Frk posted 50 points his first season with the Mooseheads, but missed half of the 2011-12 campaign following a concussion. The 6'0", 204-pound right wing rebounded, scoring almost a point-per-game after his return. The Bochov, Czech Republic native scored four goals and six assists in Halifax's first two playoff series, which could help his draft stock. |

Ryan Strome, Islanders First Round pick in 2011
Gemel is a real fast, speedy guy. He's a little smaller, but pretty tenacious. He likes to get in there and get dirty.
Trent Klatt, Islanders Player Development
Smith is a responsible player at both ends of the rink. He competes hard and typically doesn't take a shift off.
