Although he did not find the score sheet in 41 games with Frölunda of the Swedish Elite League this past season, Sebastian Collberg still had a successful year with Frolunda’s junior team, scoring 17 points in 21 games. Scouts have noticed that the 5’11”, 174-pound right wing makes up for his smaller size with a quick release and strong shot.Collberg helped Sweden end a 31-year gold medal drought at the 2012 World Junior Championships with seven points in six games. During the tournament, Collberg scored a crucial shootout goal against Finland, helping the Swedes reach the final.

Regarded as an offensive defenseman, Derrick Pouliot finished the regular season ranked fourth among WHL blueliners with 59 points. In the playoffs, he tied for first among all defensemen with 17 points in 22 games. Pouliot also had a strong performance in the CHL Top Prospects game, tallying an assist in the 2-1 win for Team Orr. Assuming Pouliot is back in Portland next season, he can be expected to be a leading star for the Winterhawks, who will probably be a strong contender for the WHL title. |
