The Islanders went 1-3-0 against the Bruins last season, but 1-1-0 on the road. In the teams' last matchup, the Islanders came back from deficits on two separate occasions, but were outscored 4-1 in the third period as the Bruins skated to a 6-3 victory. Kyle Okposo scored fot the Islanders, and John Tavares and Matt Moulson each recorded two assists in the loss.

Milan Lucic - Left Wing
The Bruins left wing has two goals through three games so far this season, and is coming off back-to-back 25-goal, 60-point seasons. Selected in the second round (50th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft, the 24-year-old Lucic has racked up over 120 penalty minutes each of the last two seasons, and is a threat to score on the power play, lighting the lamp 12 times since 2010-11.
•Thursday's game marks the back-end of the Islanders first back-to-back set this season. The Islanders will play seven back-to-back sets this year.
•LW Michael Grabner (6g/3a) is on a five-game point streak, dating back to the final two games of last season. Grabner leads the team with five points (3g/2a) through three games.
•With two helpers in Thursday's 7-4 win over Toronto, C John Tavares has back-to-back two assist games.
•C Keith Aucoin is 24-for-34 (70.6%) in the faceoff circle in his first three games as an Islander.
