| Season series (0-1-0) The Islanders and Devils kicked off the campaign with a 2-1 New Jersey victory at Nassau Coliseum on January 19. The Devils did a great job limiting Islanders’ chances throughout the game. Only Travis Hamonic’s power play goal in the third period beat Martin Brodeur. Devils player to watch Once again, Martin Brodeur is off to a great start to the season. Brodeur has played in four out of the Devils’ five games this season, conceding just seven goals for a 1.69 save percentage. All-time against the Islanders, Brodeur is 50-27-6 with a 2.19 GAA and .913 SV%. |

| Islanders Storylines •Thursday’s game concludes the Islanders five-game road trip. The Islanders are 2-1-1 so far on the trip and won’t travel back outside of New York State until February 19. •The Islanders are tied for fourth in the NHL on the power play and rank third on the penalty kill. The Islanders scored on their only two power plays against Pittsburgh and have only allowed one power play goal all season. •With Matt Moulson’s power play goal against Pittsburgh, John Tavares has now been on the ice for 64 consecutive Moulson goals. |
