Game Preview: New York Islanders at Montreal Canadiens 2\/21\/13
Isles travel to Montreal to take on the Canadiens for the first time this season

Season series (2011-12)
The Islanders went 2-2-0 against the Canadiens last season, winning the final contest 3-2 in a shootout. Mark Streit and Frans Nielsen (one assist) scored in regulation, and in the sixth round of the breakaway competition, Josh Bailey netted the game-deciding goal.

The Islanders and Canadiens will meet twice more this season, with both games at the Coliseum.

Tomas Plekanec - Center
Tomas Plekanec leads Montreal with 13 points (eight goals, five assists) in 16 games this season. The Kladno, Czech Republic native has scored 20-plus goals in five of the last six seasons, while missing only 10 games during that span. Plekanec leads the team with 50 shots on goal and 341 faceoffs taken this season.
 
 
Islanders Storylines
•The Islanders are on game two of a three-game road trip, with a loss Tuesday at Ottawa and a game coming up at Buffalo on Saturday.
•Travis Hamonic scored his second goal of the season Tuesday at Ottawa, matching his goal output from 2011-12.
•If he dresses for tonight's game, Matt Moulson will take sole possession of third place on the franchise all-time leader board with 262 consecutive games played, passing Denis Potvin.
