Live Updates - Islanders vs. Senators

3:00 p.m. - Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum - Uniondale, NY

Pre-Game
Same defensive pairings as the other day against Toronto. Slight shuffling with the third and fourth line during rushes. Robin Lehner comes off first for Ottawa. My best estimate of lines are at the bottom.

Amanda Kaletsky brings us O Canada and the Star-Spangled Banner in excellent form, and we're off.

1st Period
0:43: After a penalty-free game the last time out, it doesn't take us long to get our first penalty of the game. David Dziurzynski for hi-sticking, and the Isles are on the job early.

2:51: Stoppage in play and the Isles are 0-for-1. Shots: NYI 2 OTT 0

7:48: Brad Boyes banks one in off of Robin Lehner and in on a transition play. Matt Moulson and Mark Streit get the assists. 1-0 Islanders.

13:48: Dziurzynski puts a solid form tackle on Marty Reasoner, and he's going to sit two minutes for interference.

15:48: Dziurzynski leaves the box. Not a ton of pressure on that PP, but shots are 11-6 for New York.

End 1st: NYI 1 OTT 0. Shots: NYI 11 OTT 6. Video game stat of the day: Matt Martin leads all players with eight hits already. Maybe he heard about that trivia question on our Twitter page and wanted to extend his streak to eight games.

2nd Period
6:03: PA announcer just recognized Denis Potvin, who is in the house for the Senators' TV broadcasts. Last player to captain a team to four Stanley Cups.

8:36: Ottawa's Mika Zibanejad scores to tie it at 1-1. Nabokov couldn't get the puck to the corner, and it took an unfortunate bounce off an Islanders stick down low. Chris Neil gets credited with the assist on Zibanejad's fourth.

11:02: Mini-scrum following a save by Lehner. Still 1-1. Shots: NYI 20 OTT 12.

15:31: Islanders are going to the box for the first time in a really long time (two games ago) Colin McDonald for hooking. Senators PP going to work.

17:02: Great save by Nabokov on Daniel Alfredsson, and a better one by the right post a moment later on a shot from the point. Finally the Isles get a clear.

17:31: No harm done on the Ottawa man advantage. Still 1-1. Shots: NYI 22 OTT 16.

End 2nd: NYI 1 OTT 1. Shots: NYI 23 OTT 17

3rd Period
3:16: Zack Smith called for tripping, and the 0-for-2 Islanders power play will try to make it 1-for-3.

5:32: Stoppage in play. Islanders couldn't muster a ton of energy on that man advantage. 0-for-3. Still a 1-1 hockey game.

7:07: Casey Cizikas escorted off the tripping, and Ottawa will get their second opportunity on the man advantage.

9:26: Islanders kill that off. Senators had a couple of golden chances, including one by Colin Greening in a scramble. Still 1-1. Shots: NYI 24 OTT 24.

15:19: We're still tied here at the Coliseum. Not an abundance of scoring chances in this period. Shots: NYI 28 OTT 25.

16:31: Isles take the lead 2-1. That one woke up everyone. Michael Grabner snipes Lehner from the slot. Unassisted for his eighth of the year.

18:51: Senators tie it at 2-2 on the power play. Deflection in front on a point shot. Greening got the final touch it looked like.
